Application :
For smooth starting of AC Induction Motors
An Induction Motor draws high current ( 6 to 8 times full load current) and delivers high torque.during starting. This leads to voltage dips in the electrical system and a high mechanical stress on the motor and connected equipment.
A Soft Starter eliminates these unwanted effects by controlling the voltage applied to the motor during the start up operation. This leads to a smooth acceleration avoiding voltage dips and mechanical stresses.
This is also a replacement for Star Delta starters.
